In the wake of World War II.
Hamarøy War Memorial Museum works to make visible cultural monuments related to the war period 1940-45. We seek to focus on the local and distinctive war history of the area, with the main emphasis on border clearance, railway construction, power development and the fate of Soviet prisoners of war.
